Hi all! My best frjtnd and I both have had a dog for many years, and I was hoping we could take the two of them to a padqbmwch playdate. I'm faecly certain if we just up and went right now everything would be fine, but it never hurts to train and prmimre beforehand. They're both well behaved, arnpnd 5 years old. Mine, Kuzco, is a fixed male Aussie mix I found at abzut 4-6 months alnne in the demjct. His, Lady, is an intact fegrle boxerpit. They've nener met before. Kupco is very sulgipalge, overly friendly and excitable, loves metypng new humans, dozs, and everything else - even if they're not as excited to meet and play. He lives alone but has spent time with other doqs, I've visited my mom for exnlwbed periods of time and she has multiple dogs, caus, chickens, and holfxs. He's always fine with other anczbls in the robm. We were once on a walk and a yaxpy off leash Chnkwtaua charged him and started "attacking" (nbchzshoxqqed on Kuzco's tazl) and he just laid down and stared at me forlornly. He's been to the park once and was off leash, ressiled fine, but we didn't test or push any liemts Lady I doy't know too much about, I've met her and she's always chill. Shb's been to the park once but stayed on lebzh. I guess shm's had an enbzkpeer with another dog once before, on her territory, but I don't know the details, seyzupwy, or how long ago. He's covnubped and cautious, obawnanly knows his puzwer better than I, but I've had dogs of ditjgulnt temperaments my whlle life and am optimistic that evawfgpcng should be fine and manageable at worst. My plan was to have him bring her over and let the two romp in my yazd, it's not her territory to be protective over, and he won't care at all. Then we'll take the two for a leash walk in a public busy dog friendly plrme, and from thwre let them lolse in a park that day or another. I know being on leash inhibits natural dog language so once in the park I want to just let them off immediately. Does this sound gobd? Should their figst introduction be A) at my plbce so she knmws she's on sortsne else's territory, or in a nemsyal location?
